Babelscape has been officially recognized as an Innovative SME (PMI innovativa) in Italy, confirming the company’s strong commitment to research, technological development, and innovation in the field of multilingual Natural Language Processing (NLP).

March marks a significant milestone for us: this year, Babelscape turns ten. What started as a focus on language-independent semantics and multilinguality has grown into a company where research and innovation are the core intelligence behind everything we build.

As we celebrate this decade, we want to share a brief recap of the journey that brought us here: a path paved by scientific excellence and real-world impact.

The 2026 edition of the Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) has come to a close, this year hosted in San Diego, USA. Once again, the conference brought together researchers, engineers, and practitioners from across the NLP community to discuss the latest advances in language technology, and this edition, too, saw the participation of Prof. Roberto Navigli, the Sapienza NLP group, and Babelscape.

ChatMinerva is a multimodal AI assistant designed to understand text, images, and documents, access the web in real time, and converse in Italian with greater reliability and safety. This is a research project developed entirely in Italy. It builds on an open, transparent, and fully controllable approach across every stage of development: from pretraining to fine-tuning, through to its safety and moderation mechanisms.

ADRIANO, the first robotic employee in the Italian Public Administration, ready to transform visitor reception and information services at the Temple of Vibia Sabina and Hadrian, the prestigious headquarters of the Capital’s economic institution.

Equipped with artificial intelligence and cutting-edge technology, ADRIANO will become operational on March 24, 2025, welcoming citizens and tourists and providing information, in Italian and English, about the history of Rome and the historic site of the Rome Chamber of Commerce.
